Water Balloons From Heaven

I’m currently in the Sunshine State, aka Florida.  I remember when I first arrived to Florida. It was a sunny day and the humidity was out of this world. We just left New Jersey and I was happy to get away from the cold so I didn’t mind the heat one bit.  The sun was beating down as strong as it could and we (my family) were sweating heavily. Suddenly we began to feel a cool breeZe. Dark clouds swiftly moved overhead and the temperature dropped a few degrees. Then the rain started to pour…and when I say pour I mean pour.  I’m from Southern Cali and you know it never rains in Southern California. I’ve never seen rain drops as big as the ones beating on my heaD. It felt like water balloons were falling from the sky…we were soaked in a matter of a few seconds.  Rain water was flooding the streets. I even thought a saw an ark pass by. Then it was like someone turned off the facet. The rain just stopped…the clouds disappeared and the sun flexed as we began to feel like steamed vegetables.

My experience brought a message.

The sun will shine…the rain will come…but the rain will not last forever.  In other words, there will be good times and bad times will rain down upon us.  We need to stay strong and remember that the rain will stop.  However, we also need to be thankful for rain in our lives every now-and-then.  Rain provides plants, trees, and other vegetation with the nutrients needed for growth just as pain provides the experiences we need for growth.  So smile and embrace each water balloon that falls from heaven.
