Return “Trip”
It was early morning and the air was crisp and cool. Heavy traffic was muffled by the sound of excitement and nervousness as people enter BWI Airport. I’m getting ready to take my last flight home from another deployment. I checked in super early because I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of rushing and fighting through the many crowds. I guess my relaxed attitude radiated to those around me. The attendant at the kiosk was more than helpful as she completed the required paperwork for my weapon case. Even the TSA security screening went well. I get some breakfast and I finally get to sit down and partake in one of my favorite activities. You guessed it…People Watching!
People are amaZing. They crack me up sometimes. Especially one guy who fell victim to attention management. The airport is busy and there are people everywhere and yet this guy continues to look back while he walks. He keeps looking back over and over spending more time looking back than watching where he’s going. Eventually the inevitable happens. He trips over someone’s luggage. If he would have been paying attention, he would have noticed that the crowd slowed down their walking pace and he should do the same. But he didn’t and another one bits the dust.
That was pretty funny huh? However, this is no laughing matter when you apply this lesson to life. Too many of us walk through the busyness of life looking back more than we look forward. We’re so busy concentrating on the “If I would have…” instead of chalking it up as a loss, adding it to your experience bank, and moving forwarD at full throttle. It’s good to take glances at our past but it should be just that…a glance. Glances help us remember where we came from and what we’ve been through. It’s a difficult task but we need to learn how to let go of the past and learn how to use it to shape our future. Unpleasant events will happen. The key is how well you deal with them. Pay attention to where you’re headed or you too will fall flat on your face.

Wzup bro how’s things I just feel if You have good Eye sight you look far enough ahead to give yourself the luxury to look back but that’s just the Cali in me talking lol
WELL SAID MY FRIEND! FROM EXPERIENCE I CAN SAY THAT FALLING FLAT ON YOUR FACE FROM LOOKING BACK AND WISHING/HOPING IT WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT DIFFERENT IS AN AWFUL FEELING, BECAUSE YOU THEN FEEL DEFEATED TWICE. AS I HAVE GROWN AND EXPERIENCED THIS AND OTHER THINGS I KNOW THAT “BOOKING” THE PAST IS BEST AS THERE IS TOO MUCH FUTURE TO LIVE AND I DONT PLAN ON MISSING IT!
